Steven C. Perkins' Music Page

I was trained as a percussion player and taught myself to play the guitar, banjo, mandolin, recorder, and baglama, a long-neck lute from Turkey. While I was in high school I was a member of a folk group, The Newcomers, which played throughout southwestern Ohio. I got to play sessions with Peter, Paul and Mary, and with John Denver. PP&M sponsored the group for a contract with Warner Brothers Music. Nothing came out of that, and everyone else went to college and I went into the U.S. Army. I currently fool around with the guitar and the oud.

My taste in music is very eclectic, ranging from plainsong, through world music, western classical, electronic ambient, jazz, and American Indian.
